The first of the “Childish” series. This particular painting is inspired by a personal story of the artist.
“I once took a tunnel tour by the Western Wall that led out to the archaeological site near the Kotel plaza.
Along the right-hand side, there are remnants of a staircase that were once used to go up toward the Temple Mount. I walked up those stairs as far as I could, and then they ended. And when they ended, it destroyed me.
I remember standing there with this overwhelming sense of brokenness and longing.
The man with the child on the staircase symbolize the dream that one day the staircase will continue. This painting is a combination of the acknowledgment that we are still in Galus, and the hope that Mashiach will come soon in our days.
Ideal for above a shabbos table or a sofa.
Offering custom frame with purchase to best suite your space.
